3.1 INTERLINKED MASTER FILES
Bibliographic and administrative data are held in several interlinked master files so that records may be processed in all Alephino modules. The master files are marked by a letter and the name of the file.

3.2 MULTIPOOL SYSTEM
The multi-pool system of Alephino enables the user to govern any number of databases independently from each other. Via external databases you may retrieve records in and fetch from other libraries, so that the retrospective cataloging of the own holdings may be significantly accelerated.The multi-pool concept enables users with previously separate Alephino installations to bring their separate databases together in one catalog.
To identify the different databases, the master files are prefixed by a letter code. M-TIT, M-AUT, M-SUB etc. designate the master files of your library pool. of the alphabet may be used.
