Digital material (Pictures, PDF documents etc.) can be attached to existing title- or item records a convenient way.
For this either use entry Attach digital object from menu Cataloging or, even simpler, shortcut keys Ctrl_O.

In the process the selected digital material is transferred to the server and automatically arranged in the Alephino digital repository, a special directory structure maintained by Alephino.
After this the digital material is available via OPAC immediately:
In contrast the also available traditional method means use of MARC-specific fields designed to cover URLs. With that it's the responsibility of the library staff to ensure that those URLs are correct
and the respective digital material is accessible. The organisation of the digital repository behind the scene means a lot of effort if it has to be managed manually.
